It's been forever baby!!!!

I finally got out to my boy without killing myself. I went out the week after my surgery and of course it was 38 degrees and a wind tunnel not to mention sleeting. Of course my boy has to rile up the herd!!!

I spent an hour trying to coax him in to get trimmed yeah NOT!!! Even poor Mike got out there and all Jiggs could do is say, "cool, Mr. Mike lets run him around gang" That's exactly what he did. I finally gave up gave Mike 10 bucks for gas and went home in tears! I was wet, in pain and frustrated. At least Jiggies was happy he won that round.

Yesterday though, Mike called from Texas told me he would be there around 2 so out I went. Of course I am walking alot better. So I can chase him a bit more if need be. Luck would have it, Maryanne and Lea met me at the barn! I was so excited! To watch Lea play with Jiggies (had no problem having him come in) is like a well orchestrated symphony! She is such a natural. What a gift. If only I had that at 14. How blessed are we to have her and Ali in our lives huh Jiggies?

Mike trimmed him up beautifully. Thanks to Lea I could watch and learn some pointers from Mike. He is a good teacher.

Well till later baby. Mom really misses you...see you soon.

Happy Easter

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Bible: Matthew, 28. 6

And a beautiful day it is. My brother Cam was Baptized last night. He has entered the Catholic religion. Congrats Cam. You can look on my forhead and see my hair looks like a cross too...

It is a great day for munching!!! And munching. Jiggies was doing just that when I arrived. After a wonderful early afternoon with the Henzes that's how I found my Jiggles.

He came bounding up when I called him. There were a couple people at the barn enjoying the beautiful sunshine.

Jiggies came out and was quite relaxed. We went for a walk, did some games and just lounged. We went to the arena, did some more games and lounged and loved some more. It was quite a nice afternoon.

We ended the day with some herbs and horsey treats for Easter. We even hugged! Jiggies did great with the tire and then headed back to the herd.

Rain for tomorrow. See you later buddy. I love you. Luv you too mom...

What a Weekend!

Today was interesting to say the least. I got to the barn around 7:45 and Jiggies was being his stubborn self due to new lay of hay! Well, Ms. Deb marched out there and got him. She made me do circles all the way to the arena. Really good Idea for me.

Deb took me out of my comfort zone alot. Jiggs was testing the old boss herd thing and I had to be the boss!!! We had to phase 4 several times because I wasn't cutting it with the nagging 3...sorry buddy. I will work on that. Did circles, weaving and a mishap figure 8. Worked on being the boss. I get too mushy. I MUST DO THIS!!!!!

All in all it was a good session and we ended with a walk, a brush and some hoof therapy. Hooves are looking a bit ragged but I have to reschedule Mike for the 21 st so we will keep on the therapy. We ended with herbs and organic horse treats. Yum! See you buddy.

Saturday was a glorious day! Even as a horse, I know the best is yet to come. Easter Sunday!!

Yucky eve!

Tonight was a huge bust! No one was around. All the horses were at the bottom of the pasture. So I took a bit to change shoes and make some tea. Before I knew it the whole herd with Jiggies in the lead were racing up the pasture. That is so cool to watch. They seemed to be all piss and vinegar!

Ok...I may come out....I need a drink first...

Jiggies was anxiously awaiting to come out. So I thought!
Well, he was fine to come out but jeez, he was a pistol! The games just didn't cut it tonight. His circle to the left was all wrong. I did my steps but he just kept wanting to come in close! It was driving me nuts! I would back him out and he would toss his head to my hand grrr!!! He wouldn't back straight went all crooked. I thought maybe there was something going on with his legs or hooves or SOME EXPLANATION. Well, I think it was just plain; it is nice out and I am the boss!!! END OF STORY!!! I was getting so frustrated I thought I better quit on a good note. So I did.

But ma, I'm sorry but don't you think I have a cute nose?

We went for a short walk up the drive and back. I gave him his goodies plus some organic horsey treats I made which he loved. I worked on his front hooves a bit and called it a night.

April was at the barn too she was having a big problem with her mare as well. Maybe it's the upcoming full moon! (tomarrow) Who knows. I just cryed the whole way home. Feeling sorry for myself. I am never going to get assesed at level one at this rate! I am doing other level things too but, oh well.

See you in a bit buddy. I'm glad we have so few of these kinds of visits. I love you man!!!

52 degrees! Playtime!!!

What a beautiful day! Not to windy either! A little muddy but that's ok. Not bad. For three hours Jiggies and I played! First I went down to greet Jiggies who was happily munching with the herd on some fresh hay! He seemed a little intrigued but not totally. I just decided to talk to some of the herd, well that got him interested. Soon enough he was following me up to the arena! We haltered up and I decided a bit of play, brushing and munching was in order! Boy is the hair flying off!! I found itchy spots and some hairless spots covered in mud of course.

After beautifying we went into the arena for some ground play. We did the circle, sideways (still working on that) the yo-yo, friendly from zone 1 and 5! Jiggies did great! The circle is really coming together! We then did some porcupine and driving. What fun! We also worked with touch the hose to it! I bought him a hula hoop that ended up in his mouth of course! A sacraficial item! We are still working on the mounting. He continues to go back when I lean on him. So we either go back or pull forward. He'll get it! After an hour of playing we decided a walk would be nice to work out the mud in the hooves. His hooves look great. Ready for a trim though. Went up front of the farm and he investigated numerous items. He had fun. We then went back to the arena area and he munched his herbs. A bit more of the loving game and out he went to frolic and munch! When I left the hands were dropping more hay! Yikes...what a smorgousboard! See you later buddy. I love you.

About Me

My photo
Genoa, Illinois, United States
I am a southern girl who moved north right out of highschool. Born and raised in Fla, couldn't take the intense heat. I moved to Massachussetts and loved New England. From there I moved to the Midwest when my boys were small. Here I have made a great life with my special boys. I have a great job, friends and as of a few years ago a terrific husband. I love life. My boys are grown now and off in college. It is a quiet satisfaction that these boys helped me thru some hard times and they are well rounded happy adults. I am truely blessed. I also have an extensive pet list! I love animals as well! I bought my boy in 2000 after I was laid off at my job. Best thing I ever did! I have been working Parelli with him since about 2001 but more dilligently in the last 6 months. He introduced me to the wonderful world of oils when he split his back hoof almost off! I now work holistic with all my animals. I am a Reiki Master Teacher (energetic healing) and work with some herbs as well for whole health of the animal (and humans)! It is truely a fabulous journey he is taking me on...
