Amazing Day Amazing Move!

Thanks so much buddy for trusting me!!! I love you so much and I must say I was a bit unerved leading up to this move from Maple Park which has been your home for 7 years to a very new and different place. Deb was there, Sandy came by to wish us well, it was a bit emotional. Sandy reminded me to pipe down! She's right. Thanks girlfriend for the encouragement! Mckenna the ammazing other young lady one of the two I consider that way with horses, graciously hugged me. That was very special. Thanks so much! Poor Sherry cried. I felt bad. She is such a doll.

Deb prepared us well! You were magnificent my best friend. I was sorry it was so hot but I have to say once you were set on the trailer, Thanks Cam...which by the way allow me to remind you it only took about 10 minutes! I was relieved and felt a thousand times better! You were a trouper throughout the 45 min drive to Kirkland!

Then even better you unloaded fenominal!!! Boy the head came up but immediatly down for some green! That's my boy! Then off to the round pen. This will be your new digg for a couple of days Jiggies. You will be fine.

Our very best friends Maryanne and Lea were there to greet you to your new home! Lea brought carrots and apples which were gobbled in no time and Maryanne took charge to get you water and let Marie know you had arrived! Lea even had you brushed and unlathered! They are amazing and special people. I took a quick walk to the arena and Maryanne had left to get Ali! How wonderful! Only ten min away!!! Back she came with a lunch for me! Mom!!! So special they are. Ali loved your look Jiggies! She thought you looked really great! Thanks Ali! I needed the vote of confidence. Again I relaxed more!

Spending the day with special friends, knowing this will be a great place for you Jiggies is all I need for my life to be more wonderful than it is! What a great day!!! Thanks again my partner, my friend. I love you so! Tomorrow we will investigate and have breakfast and lunch together! Thank you to the special people in our lives may you continue to shine as God has shone on you. I love you all.

Wow!!!! Bad me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't posted on here for a month!!!! Bad dog!!!!!

Well, loads has been going on let's get to the highlites! Jiggies will have a new home as of 8/15/09! I am happy but a bit nervous! I found a place only 10 min from the house and 10 min opposite from the Henze Farm!!!! Awesome. Around the same price. Just look at this hay!!!!! There are several types grown here for specific diatary needs. Just what the doctor ordered!!! And there is quite an indoor as well as a large outdoor, round pen and plenty of grazing room!!!

It is a more traditional barn however, she is open to some holistic too. This is a foaling barn therefore precautions must be taken. I can detox the boy!!!!! All tests are in and he is ready to rock. He will be in the third or fourth paddock which are about a half acre or so. No where near what he is used too but...well, it will be all good.

I told Jiggies about Shane enlisting in the Army. He made me feel a bit better. I popped his grazing muzzle on and went back tonight to take it off for the evening feed. Grrrr....another reason...not a great pic, but you get the idea!!!

Well that's all for now. I'll keep this updated. There was a playday in there, trailer loading, saddle bucking! Ha!!!! I love you so my Jiggles.

My Silly guy!

Friday July 3rd I was off work because the office closed for the 4th!! Yippee. I was up at 6 and went to see the boy at 8! Mike came out to do a quick maintenence on Jiggies hooves and we discovered he needed a bit more than that plus he is a bit laminitic on the lf when facing him. A bit of a pulse. Of course I am now right brained and worrie!

I put his little LBI self back in the pasture to which he bolted balls out to his buddies and set out to find a grazing muzzle. Blanchards was out. So i picked up a couple of gifts for my good friends the Henzes and headed out there to get a cheer up! Mike was out there trimming the boys. They look great!

We sat around and had a bite to eat and chatted and I finally dragged my petunia home around 4:30. Of course I felt so much better after leaving my second home.

I found a muzzle online and it should be here next week. I spoke to the vet and we now have a game plan. This boy WILL NOT BE LAMINITIC FOR LONG!!!

I love you my buddy. see you in a bit!

Weekend Play!

Saturday! Happy Birthday to me!!!! I went to MaryAnn's for coffee. I just love our coffee dates. I was a little sad because Cam didn't remember. Oh well. I knew I would be out at the farm tomorrow for our playday and my Jiggies would remember!

Maryanne and the girls gave me PURPLE REINS FOR MY JIGGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! WATCH OUT HERD! HE WILL BE STYLIN!!! I was in awe! Ali gave me a magnificent pair of earings that she tatted. They are beautiful. I am going to buy a new outfit for them! I will be her advertisment. Jiggies can't get ahold of these!!! Then in the afternoon, Keith went shopping. I got a riding helmet!!!!! YAY!!!!!! Jiggles get ready! It was wonderful.

Sunday June 28 was the first playday I have been able to get to. It was a two for one so Lea came with me! What a great day. We played continuously from about 9:30-3:30 with a short break for lunch!

Lea is such a master. She played with Suede who is a love. Jiggies and Suede are in the pasture together so it worked out great. It was 50 mile an hour winds but we played on!!! There were tons of obsticals, water obsticals, jumping, tarps, trailer. You name it. Deb does a great job at these they are worth every penny for me!

The best part was this!!!!!!!!!!!

After years of not riding (about 5 actually) I took the time it takes!!! I felt comfortable getting on Jiggies with his stylin reins and my happenin helmet! He did look at me kind of funny! YOUR GOING TO DO WHAT????? WHERE IS THE 50 LB WEIGHT DROP?? Hee Hee...we did great. I only stayed on for a bit and all involved were happy with the progress. I couldn't have done this without Deb and Lea! Thanks so much you guys. I love ya!

See you later buddy. I love you!

WOW!!!!!

After a week of not seeing my baby, Yikes!!!!! I got to the barn around 6:45p and he was way down munching. SHOCKER! I called him and he said, "hmmf" and kept eating. So I stood at the top of the pasture and talked to the herd.

Well of course curiosity got the best of him. He slauntered up to see me. He was on Hyperalert! I could tell. I took it easy he followed to the gate and was very willing. I left the halter on the mounting block so I just had my Savvy string. I put it around his neck and led him out for some munching.

There were many people at the barn. There were several riding in and out of the front arena, one in the indoor arena and the horses in the pasture were a bit vocal. The weather was prime.

Well, Jiggies spooked and that was all it took. He was a RB mover for about 20 minutes. Within that time every person outside was stopped in their tracks watching the spectical. He was really spectacular! He was running balls out around the outside of his pasture so much so that every horse in the pasture was running balls out with him. It was wild!

eeeeeeeeeeekkkk! "I can't get in guys!!!!!! Something out here is going to get me!!!"

He ran and ran. Then he stopped to munch. At that point several people came back to ask if I needed help getting him. I said no, he is just RB he needs to run it off. He was awesome tho. Someone blocked off the entrance to the back and I grabbed the gate he had gone thru earlier and closed it. I just let him run it out. As he stopped I played the "I'm gonna get your hiney" game and off he'd go.

Then the owners sister came back and had told her I may need some help. I explained he was just goofy. She watched him and commented he looked awesome. He floated at times. She was amazed. I thought, how the heck can this horse now having run for almost 45 minutes, one, keep going and keep going with that belly he has!!!

Finally, he stopped to graze and I went over stuck my hand out and he must have decided he had enough. I haltered him and off we went. He was all over me though most of the night. Bugs were thick and he was itchy. We did alot of circling game and falling leaf backwards. Friendly game and hide the hiney.

I will try again Thursday. Whew! The work out for me was actually standing there watching him!!! But he had to get it out! Wonder what Pat would have said to that!!?

An awesome day

Sunday the last day of May. What a beautiful day it was. A little cool but very warm! Jiggies came all the way up from the back of the pasture when I called him. I was excited. We had a great day playing. I loved on him a bit more than I should have but hey, I haven't seen him in forever! I missed my boy. See you in a few days sweetie. I love you.

A Happy Day with the boy!

Upon my arrival at the barn my boy was way way out at the edge of the field munching! But of course. He wasn't too eager to join me so I lingered. I relaxed with my cup of coffee and just hung out! It was a beautiful day after all! Then a few of the herd approched to see what I was about. Then of course Mr. Curiosity had to see what everyone was checking out. He was funny.

Soon he wanted to be with me so we strolled up the pasture and hung somemore! He munched I sipped and enjoyed the early afternoon. It is easy just to relax with Jiggies.

After much munching, we enjoyed some games. We ran up and down the rocky path leading to the arena. Then he got a brush and a hoof clean. It will be a few weeks before he can have a trim and he really needs one. We played somemore then practiced his jump over the big tree stump! After only a few attempts he did a pretty good jump. I was elated so we stopped and he munched more. Shocking isn't it! :-)

He was actually quite LB until he seen the cows roaming around the farm loose. Then a bit of Rt came in but not much he was more curious. I ran into a couple of friends later and they were going to walk around the trail around the parrimeter of the farm. Jiggies has never done this. They encouraged me to come along. We did!! Jigs was in heaven! We walked then stopped a bit and he munched on 2 foot grasses. He was doing the Jig! NO pun! Hee Hee...I wish I had my camera with me, he really did exceptional. All four of the horses just munched and walked the trail. We even came across a farm bridge (big enough for a cutting tractor to go over the little creek) and did a bit of aproch retreat. Being that it was a totally new environment I didn't want to push him too much. He did well. Didn't quite go on it but muched along the bridge. That was cool.

All in all it was a wonderful day and I was pooped as I am sure he was as well. We were out playing for 5 hours!!!! Time does fly when you're having fun and we did. I love you buddy! See you when I get back!

What a great weekend!

I spent the whole day spring cleaning and am no where near done. I moved at what I thought was lightning speed then I noticed it was 4pm!!! I had to hurry to go see my boy! What a beautiful day. I quick got my items I needed from the dollar store, my coffee and zipped out to see Jiggies! I picked up some plastic cones so we could practice the figure 8.

He was in the adjoining pasture that was opened up this weekend. Loads of fresh green! We came in and played a bit he was sluggish. Probably because it was 7:45p! Poor guy. We played the figure 8 and touch it. Ran a few circles then just hung out. Loved his goodies and came out for a short walk. I noticed there is a chunk out of the bottom of his front L hoof! Darn it! I filed it a bit and sanded. I will send to Mike for his recommondation.

I decided to try a bit of liberty to put him back to the pasture and he did great! I miss him already. I could hear the cyotes already. Jeez the first great evening. Even the dang Mosquats are out...See you later buddy. I love you much.

It's a gorgous May weekend!

What fun Jiggies and I had Saturday! We had a short lesson and a long play! He was quite RBI as we played but then the wind started up and he became his old LBE self It was alot of fun. He did great on the falling leaf! Very muddy but otherwise he is looking good. No scratches and the hooves are awesome.

It's been forever baby!!!!

I finally got out to my boy without killing myself. I went out the week after my surgery and of course it was 38 degrees and a wind tunnel not to mention sleeting. Of course my boy has to rile up the herd!!!

I spent an hour trying to coax him in to get trimmed yeah NOT!!! Even poor Mike got out there and all Jiggs could do is say, "cool, Mr. Mike lets run him around gang" That's exactly what he did. I finally gave up gave Mike 10 bucks for gas and went home in tears! I was wet, in pain and frustrated. At least Jiggies was happy he won that round.

Yesterday though, Mike called from Texas told me he would be there around 2 so out I went. Of course I am walking alot better. So I can chase him a bit more if need be. Luck would have it, Maryanne and Lea met me at the barn! I was so excited! To watch Lea play with Jiggies (had no problem having him come in) is like a well orchestrated symphony! She is such a natural. What a gift. If only I had that at 14. How blessed are we to have her and Ali in our lives huh Jiggies?

Mike trimmed him up beautifully. Thanks to Lea I could watch and learn some pointers from Mike. He is a good teacher.

Well till later baby. Mom really misses you...see you soon.

Happy Easter

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Bible: Matthew, 28. 6

And a beautiful day it is. My brother Cam was Baptized last night. He has entered the Catholic religion. Congrats Cam. You can look on my forhead and see my hair looks like a cross too...

It is a great day for munching!!! And munching. Jiggies was doing just that when I arrived. After a wonderful early afternoon with the Henzes that's how I found my Jiggles.

He came bounding up when I called him. There were a couple people at the barn enjoying the beautiful sunshine.

Jiggies came out and was quite relaxed. We went for a walk, did some games and just lounged. We went to the arena, did some more games and lounged and loved some more. It was quite a nice afternoon.

We ended the day with some herbs and horsey treats for Easter. We even hugged! Jiggies did great with the tire and then headed back to the herd.

Rain for tomorrow. See you later buddy. I love you. Luv you too mom...

What a Weekend!

Today was interesting to say the least. I got to the barn around 7:45 and Jiggies was being his stubborn self due to new lay of hay! Well, Ms. Deb marched out there and got him. She made me do circles all the way to the arena. Really good Idea for me.

Deb took me out of my comfort zone alot. Jiggs was testing the old boss herd thing and I had to be the boss!!! We had to phase 4 several times because I wasn't cutting it with the nagging 3...sorry buddy. I will work on that. Did circles, weaving and a mishap figure 8. Worked on being the boss. I get too mushy. I MUST DO THIS!!!!!

All in all it was a good session and we ended with a walk, a brush and some hoof therapy. Hooves are looking a bit ragged but I have to reschedule Mike for the 21 st so we will keep on the therapy. We ended with herbs and organic horse treats. Yum! See you buddy.

Saturday was a glorious day! Even as a horse, I know the best is yet to come. Easter Sunday!!

Yucky eve!

Tonight was a huge bust! No one was around. All the horses were at the bottom of the pasture. So I took a bit to change shoes and make some tea. Before I knew it the whole herd with Jiggies in the lead were racing up the pasture. That is so cool to watch. They seemed to be all piss and vinegar!

Ok...I may come out....I need a drink first...

Jiggies was anxiously awaiting to come out. So I thought!
Well, he was fine to come out but jeez, he was a pistol! The games just didn't cut it tonight. His circle to the left was all wrong. I did my steps but he just kept wanting to come in close! It was driving me nuts! I would back him out and he would toss his head to my hand grrr!!! He wouldn't back straight went all crooked. I thought maybe there was something going on with his legs or hooves or SOME EXPLANATION. Well, I think it was just plain; it is nice out and I am the boss!!! END OF STORY!!! I was getting so frustrated I thought I better quit on a good note. So I did.

But ma, I'm sorry but don't you think I have a cute nose?

We went for a short walk up the drive and back. I gave him his goodies plus some organic horsey treats I made which he loved. I worked on his front hooves a bit and called it a night.

April was at the barn too she was having a big problem with her mare as well. Maybe it's the upcoming full moon! (tomarrow) Who knows. I just cryed the whole way home. Feeling sorry for myself. I am never going to get assesed at level one at this rate! I am doing other level things too but, oh well.

See you in a bit buddy. I'm glad we have so few of these kinds of visits. I love you man!!!

52 degrees! Playtime!!!

What a beautiful day! Not to windy either! A little muddy but that's ok. Not bad. For three hours Jiggies and I played! First I went down to greet Jiggies who was happily munching with the herd on some fresh hay! He seemed a little intrigued but not totally. I just decided to talk to some of the herd, well that got him interested. Soon enough he was following me up to the arena! We haltered up and I decided a bit of play, brushing and munching was in order! Boy is the hair flying off!! I found itchy spots and some hairless spots covered in mud of course.

After beautifying we went into the arena for some ground play. We did the circle, sideways (still working on that) the yo-yo, friendly from zone 1 and 5! Jiggies did great! The circle is really coming together! We then did some porcupine and driving. What fun! We also worked with touch the hose to it! I bought him a hula hoop that ended up in his mouth of course! A sacraficial item! We are still working on the mounting. He continues to go back when I lean on him. So we either go back or pull forward. He'll get it! After an hour of playing we decided a walk would be nice to work out the mud in the hooves. His hooves look great. Ready for a trim though. Went up front of the farm and he investigated numerous items. He had fun. We then went back to the arena area and he munched his herbs. A bit more of the loving game and out he went to frolic and munch! When I left the hands were dropping more hay! Yikes...what a smorgousboard! See you later buddy. I love you.

About Me

My photo
Genoa, Illinois, United States
I am a southern girl who moved north right out of highschool. Born and raised in Fla, couldn't take the intense heat. I moved to Massachussetts and loved New England. From there I moved to the Midwest when my boys were small. Here I have made a great life with my special boys. I have a great job, friends and as of a few years ago a terrific husband. I love life. My boys are grown now and off in college. It is a quiet satisfaction that these boys helped me thru some hard times and they are well rounded happy adults. I am truely blessed. I also have an extensive pet list! I love animals as well! I bought my boy in 2000 after I was laid off at my job. Best thing I ever did! I have been working Parelli with him since about 2001 but more dilligently in the last 6 months. He introduced me to the wonderful world of oils when he split his back hoof almost off! I now work holistic with all my animals. I am a Reiki Master Teacher (energetic healing) and work with some herbs as well for whole health of the animal (and humans)! It is truely a fabulous journey he is taking me on...
